If your trailer is stolen, lost, or abandoned and you cannot contact your renter, you can log in to your owner’s portal, track your trailer via the LoneStar tracking system, and call your local police for recovery assistance.
RentATrailer has partnered with LoneStar tracking to provide every trailer owner with asset tracking capabilities via GPS modules attached to your trailer. You can access this feature under the trailer tracker tab of your owner’s dashboard
There are multiple how-to videos online to show you how to hook up a trailer to your vehicle. Be sure to research your vehicle and hitch type to be sure it is compatible with the trailer you want to rent.
Your hitch ball size will be etched on the top of the ball itself. Make sure it is the correct ball size for the trailer you want to rent.
With so many variables between truck builds and manufacturers, it can take a few minutes to figure out exactly what the max towing capacity of your specific vehicle is. The combined weight of your truck plus trailer and cargo should not exceed the max tow capacity. You’ll need some information from the VIN or door sticker on the vehicle. Simply find your VIN and input it in one of the various Towing Capacity calculators online.
Though it’s ultimately up to you to determine the price of your trailer, you can use our Trailer-Culator on RentaTrailer.us to determine what the suggested rental price is.
Rental costs vary by location, type of trailer, and duration of the rental. You can browse for trailers on rentatrailer.us to determine what the trailer you want will cost.
If there’s physical damage to the vehicle during the period of the booked trip, the primary renter will be financially liable for the costs of repair, plus related costs.
If an accident occurs, you must immediately notify the police and receive an accident report, then notify the trailer owner.
No RentATrailer does not rent RVs or Travel Trailers
No, we do not provide Third-Party Liability insurance. There are several insurance companies that provide coverage for the following: bodily injury and property damage to third parties, personal injury protection, uninsured or underinsured motorist.
Setting distance can only be tracked if you opt-in for GPS tracking services provided by LoneStar Tracking.
The security deposit is to ensure any damages or liabilities will be covered in the event of an accident.
After signing up for a profile on RATR as a trailer owner, you will then be required to sign up for a Stripe account, so we can pay you your balance after a rental. You will be paid 75% of the total trip cost.
